Religious School

Shelley Hedrick, Religious School Director

A Jewish education is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child. Judaism provides structure, values and community. A good Jewish education will add meaning and depth to a student's life. The Congregation B'nai Jehudah Religious School is designed to assist parents in giving the gift of Judaism to their children.

The core of the school's Judaica curriculum is built on the three pillars of Jewish life - Torah, Avodah (prayer) and G'milut Hasadim (deeds of loving kindness).

The Hebrew program prepares students to participate in Jewish life by connecting them with prayers and the enhancement of meaning gained in Jewish practice.

Family Education
Parents join their student in the classroom once a semester. Teachers plan special learning activities, which appeal and challenge both the parents and students.

Parents receive weekly e-mail communication or a newsletter from the classroom teacher describing what is happening in the classroom.

All of the faculty and staff of the religious school are dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment. The congregation and home are partners in education. Positive reinforcement, multiple strategies and creative experiences are pillars of the Congregation B'nai Jehudah "can do" team.
