MITZVAH
DAY 2006
"Program of the Year" Award
The Jewish Federation
of Greater Kansas City announced at their Annual Meeting on
September 7, 2006 the Community Programs of the Year Award.
It was announced that B'nai Jehudah took to heart the Jewish
tradition of "Tikkun Olam" and received this award
for "Mitzvah Day". With 500 congregants, ranging
in age from six months to 99 years old, participants volunteered
at 18 different projects in the metropolitan area. B'nai Jehudah's
Mitzvah Day truly embodied the concept of creating a better
world. Thank you to all the participants who helped support
"Mitzvah Day". A special thank you to Judy and Doug
Rope who are the Mitzvah Day co-chairs and to Steve Cohen
and Marcia Soltz who are the Social Justice co-chairs. Congratulations
on receiving the "Program of the Year" award. All
costs associated with Mitzvah Day were underwritten in loving
memory of Martin Fromm.
